Teen Therapy

Coming Here Wasn't Exactly Your Idea

So how many teens honestly come in to see me voluntarily the first time? Almost none.

The rest tell me they couldn't wait to get here. Sure.

I wouldn't want to come talk about this stuff with anyone either.

Still, something got you this far, and it's harder to explain than anybody around you seems to think.

Your Mood Shows Up Before Your Reasons Do

Irritable one minute, angry the next, with no clear reason for either. There's also the "leaking," otherwise known as crying for no known reason.

When an adult asks what's wrong, "I don't know" is the most honest answer you've got.

That answer rarely lands well at home.

Help Your Parents Learn What You Need From Them

A big part of our work together is finding ways to talk with your parents that actually get through.

The goal is fewer lectures at home and a real hearing for your side of things.

It runs both ways, so you'll also help them learn what you need from them. Nobody gets cast as the bad guy here, you or your parents.

Any other thoughts, feelings or worries you bring in get their share of our time too.

Expect Your Teen to Arrive Unconvinced

Teens tend to walk in doubting this will help, and I'm used to it.

This work includes you, since the point is a teen who feels heard at home and parents who know what their teen needs.

Keep Me Up to Speed Years From Now

Back when I was a teen, getting help to understand what I was going through was a chance I missed.

Since then, I've worked with teens facing everything from serious legal trouble to everyday friendship and family friction.

Most of them end up grateful they spent the time talking through what was going on. Many still keep me posted on how they're doing, years after we've finished.

Getting started takes one awkward conversation at home.

Not Sure How to Bring This Up With Your Parents?

A Free Consultation Your Parents Can Request

I'll help you figure out how to introduce the idea of therapy to them. If it helps, another supportive adult you trust can be part of that conversation, right alongside your parents or guardian.

Your parents or guardian can ask Morgan for a free consultation through the contact form. You're part of it from that very first request too.
